3 3/4" of a wet, heavy snow.

Last night on the way home from Tori's basketball game it was 39 degrees and raining. The weather forecasters said we were getting snow, but I just couldn't see how it was going to stick since all day had been above 40. It is a classic forecast in Tennessee where the line between snow and rain is so hard to predict. We are close to having a record snowfall amount this January. Normally we have about 2" in January and this year we have already had over 10". So I was really thinking, yea right.

Fast forward 2 or so hours and it is 10:45 and we are ready to head to bed. I had just finished typing something on facebook about wishing I knew if the snow would really get here so I would know how early to get up. I asked Rod to turn on the outside lights and look to see if it was doing anything yet. Was it ever! HUGE, FLUFFY snow flakes!

It is amazing what a few miles will do (and a couple hundred feet of elevation). This morning Rod was going to ride to work with Charles. So I got on the 4wheeler and drove him to the top of the driveway taking pictures along the way. The amazing part is that when Rod called when he got to work... Goodlettsville only had about 1/2". As the crow flies that is only about 15 miles from where we are.

Here are some of the pictures that I took early this morning.
