Tori and Matt are ENGAGED

Lets start a couple weeks back.  In the middle of Rod's favorite store... BassPro... Matt says "I guess now is as good a time as any"... and that was the beginning of another milestone that my oldest daughter is growing up.  Matt asked Rod if he could marry Tori!

So now 2 weeks later I am sitting at my computer on a Wednesday afternoon and Matt calls.  He says "the ring came in early, I'm thinking about proposing this weekend at Fall Creek Falls".  Imagine how excited that I am that he is choosing to do it while the family is somewhat around.  I didn't know all of his plans, but I knew it would probably happen on Saturday.

So Saturday comes and he is carrying the camera bag for us all day because that is where the ring is hidden.  We hiked to a spot called Rocky Point Overlook that overlooks Fall Creek Falls.  To get to that overlook you had to climb down a big hill and then back up.  I was worried that the dogs could not do that part of the climb and would have put whoever was holding the leashes in jeopardy.  So it was just Matt, Tori, Christina and Hunter on the rock.  Matt decided, at the top of the highest point they had climbed, this was the place.  He had Christina aide him in distracting Tori while he got the ring out and then got down on one knee!

Rod and I both got to watch from across the way!  Christina and Hunter had a front row seat!

I'm not sure what all he said to her, but I know she was grinning from ear to ear!

Here are some of the pictures I took of the couple this weekend - both before and after the proposal:

Fall Creek Falls

About two months ago I felt the need for a vacation.  On a whim I logged into the state website for booking cabins at state parks.  Fall Creek Falls is someplace we have not been in many years. As luck would have it, there was 1 cabin available.  It was the only cabin and only for a single weekend.  Everything else was booked.  So I quickly reserved the cabin.  When looking at the details I see that it is pet friendly.... Bear and Rose's lucky day!

So blocked out everyone's calendar and we were set.

The days of Rod and I taking a weekend with just our two girls is most likely over... so this trip included both boyfriends.  Although we will miss the days of our girls being younger, we were happy to have Matt and Hunter along.

Our cabin was not one of the newly renovated ones, but still plenty nice for our short weekend.  We were on the lake with our balcony actually out over the water.  We had plenty of ducks coming by to see us and the water was beautiful.

On Saturday we did hiked most of the day.  It included going hiking to see Cane Creek Falls, then driving over to the main Fall Creek Falls.  We hiked to Rocky Point Overlook (more to come about that spot!!!), then to the bottom of Fall Creek Falls where we had lunch (Thanks to Bear for toting that to the bottom for us).  The day was finished with grilling steak and chicken and having a great family meal.

Sunday, after a huge breakfast,  had us going to an overlook for Piney Falls and the overlook called Buzzards Roost.  This was one of the coolest overlooks we have ever done!

I took a lot of pictures... I am posting less than 10% feel free to scroll and look until you get bored :)
