Senior Pictures Class of 2017!

Senior already??? Yep, Christina is a senior this year.  Once again a milestone is happening that makes me question where the time has gone!  We had our neighbor, Steven Cook, take some casual poses of Christina.  The pictures are from our land, the stable where she leases Playboy, and Montgomery Bell State Park.  It was hot, humid, and stormy and Steven was patient and worked with us and the elements!

Happy 17th Birthday Christina!

17 years old already!!!! Crazy how fast this world moves.  We celebrated Tina's birthday for the entire weekend.  Started off with a family trip to Rodizio Brazilian Steakhouse.  We had a perfect private table and it was really good.  Christina wasn't the happiest when the sang to her..she might have been a little embarrassed.  All of us left stuffed!

Then on Sunday we had friends and family over to celebrate.  I let her pick the menu... so prime rib it was!  My first time cooking a full ribeye (15 pounds) and it turned out pretty good, I thought.

It was a great weekend celebrating Tina!
Kristen was nice enough to make the cute cake!

Peter's gift was one of the favorites!

AMAZING... that is all I can say.  Granny got this table cloth made for her in 11 weeks.  It is one of the most special gifts she has ever gotten.

Christina and Great Granny.  Two special ladies right here!

The Classroom of Mrs. King

Today is the 1st day of school for the students that will have Mrs. King as a 1st year teacher.  I can't tell you how proud I am of Tori.  She worked hard to finish college in 3 years so that she can get started in her profession.  She purposely looked for a teaching position in a school that has high needs and at risk students.  She looked for a place where every face in the classroom was not the same as hers.  She looked for a place that would be a challenge.  She is facing today with optimism that she can make a difference in these kids lives.  I know she can! How exciting!

Welcome!

90% of these books are from our home bookshelves.  She read all of them that came from our house.  Her classroom library has over 300 books

The first book she is going to read out loud to the children over the course of the first few weeks.
